Hanging, as popularised by Ido Portal, has several benefits. Here are just a few.
1. Improved posture (especially for those of you working 9am - 5pm behind a desk/computer) - hanging allows gravity to align the shoulder, elbow and wrist, allowing you to rediscover the ability of overhead reach.
2. Improved grip strength - the ability to hang for extended periods of time will greatly improve grip strength, transferable to lifts such as deadlifts. If you find your grip strength an issue with other lifts, try hanging.
3. If you are wanting to achieve handstands, try hanging before even getting upside down!
